I spent a couple of outstanding weeks in the company of artists from all over the world.
I met some fascinating people and had an opportunity to create a project in the framework of the workshop. I created smaller versions of the sculptures I'm working on for my upcoming show, an compiled a site specific installation.
It was so much fun! Here are some images:

And Michal Heiman and I also created a site specific installation

The project was entitled Shlishit
It was compiled of a movie Michal directed in which I participated, three of my sculptures where we embedded extracts taken from the movie and drawings we created throughout the course of making the movie.

OK, let me try and start from the Art Fair in May...

...So during the Fresh Paint art fair in May in Tel Aviv I was super surprised to receive the Ahuvi most promising
artist award! as part of this price, I'm working towards a solo show to be exhibited in the next art fair this April.

It has been a long time since I last posted an entry.
I really have a good excuse. I promise.
I'll try to post some updates regarding this long, silent period and be more disciplined blogwise

Fresh Paint 2010

Here is some of the work that I'll show in the next Fresh Paint Art fair

Wow.

I'm going through an anti climax, after I spoke in front of 2000 people last night, at the Pecha Kucha event in Tel Aviv.
All the preformers were extremely inspiring. I especially enjoyed meeting the humble Adam(Know hope) and Gurit (studio junction). Thank you, Anat and Itay, for inviting me to show my work.

אוריגאמי ענק, וידאו על בניינים ואנשים שמתחרים במירוץ לארנונה - אירוע האמנות פצ'ה קוצ'ה התשיעי יתקיים ב-21 באפריל, ויביא כבכל שנה מקבץ מעניין ומגוון של אמנים מכל התחומים. למשתתפים מוגדרים כללים נוקשים - עליהם להציג את יצירותיהם במשך שש דקות וארבעים שניות בדיוק, כאשר בזמן זה עליהם להציג 20 דימויים, כשאורך הצגת כל אחד מהם הוא 20 שניות בלבד.
על מנת שתוכלו להתכונן למאורע, נכיר לכם בכל יום את אחד מהאמנים המשתתפים, והפעם - ניבי אלרואי

מי אני: ניבי אלרואי היא אמנית רב תחומית שחזרה לארץ רק לפני שבועיים אחרי מסע בין שבע שנים בחו"ל. בין השאר היא למדה בניו-יורק ובסדנת תחריט בפריז בה עברו גם פיקאסו וג'קאמוטי. בעצתו של חנוך פיבן, מי שהיה המנטור שלה, היא חברה בניו-יורק לאמנית מקומית שהפכה אותה ממאיירת לפסלת ואמנית מיצב.
מה אני עושה:"העבודות שלי משלבות פיסול, מיצב וגם אנימציה, תחריט ואיור - כל אחד מהדברים שאספתי במסע שלי. כך למשל ארגנתי מיצב בתוך בריכה תעשייתית, או בתוך חלל שהיה מפעל לקופסאות במאה ה-19. אני "מכווצת" יחד את כל המדיומים האלה למשהו שהופך להיות נרטיב-ארכיטקטוני. בעצם אפשר להגיד שאני בונה עולמות, מעין סביבות מטאפוריות כאלה. בן הזוג שלי הוא מעדן ועוסק בביולוגיה מולקלרית, אז אני מאוד מושפעת מכל העניין של עולמות מיקרוסקופים".
מה אראה בפצ'ה קוצ'ה: "אני הולכת לספק הצצה לתהליך שלי שמתחיל ברישומים קטנים בסטודיו. המיצבים משלבים עולמות מומצאים, מחקרים ויזואלים של תופעות ביולוגיות, ועוד ועוד. ארצה להראות את כל הדרך עד שהרישומים הופכים לפסלים, סרטים ומיצבים"
